In the industrial sector, district heating refers to the integration of factories into city-wide or local thermal networks. Companies act as suppliers—by exporting excess waste heat—or as consumers, by utilizing the district heating network for space heating, drying processes, and food processing. This creates highly efficient circular energy loops.

District Heating

District heating is a system for the distribution of heat generated centrally in a heating plant. Typically, water is used as the heat transfer medium, which is transported to consumers via a network of pipes. There, the hot water releases its heat through radiators or heat exchangers for space heating or hot water in homes and businesses.
