Steam & energy management

Steam is one of the most powerful energy carriers in industry. It is also one of the most expensive when your installation does not function optimally. Condensate losses, defective steam traps, poor pressure control — every inefficient element translates directly into higher energy costs, more CO₂ emissions, and production risks.

KLINGER Belgium solves this. Not with a standalone product, but with an integrated approach: from thorough analysis of your current installation to custom engineering, full realization, and follow-up. We are your total partner for steam and energy management in industry.

Energy meters

Meters that map the consumption of steam, water, and heat as a basis for cost monitoring, billing, and energy savings.

Steam traps

Steam traps that automatically discharge condensate and prevent steam loss, ensuring an efficient and failure-free steam installation.

Steam Automation

Regulation and control solutions that automate, monitor, and optimize steam installations for enhanced process control and reduced energy consumption.

Skids

Pre-assembled and tested frame-mounted units that deliver ready-to-use steam and energy applications, ensuring shorter installation times on site.

Control valves

Control valves that accurately regulate pressure, temperature, and flow, keeping your steam and process installations stable and energy-efficient.

How we work

Every project starts with insight. We map your steam and energy system, identify loss points, and engineer a solution that fits your process, your sector, and your objectives — whether it concerns energy savings, process optimization, or compliance with ISO 50001.

Our approach combines in-house engineering, a strong product range, and years of field experience in sectors such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food, paper, and heating networks.

What we realize

Control technology – stable processes under all conditions

An efficient steam installation stands or falls with accurate pressure and flow control. We supply and engineer a full range of control valves and pressure regulators for water, steam, thermal oil, and other media — from simple mechanical regulators to microprocessor-controlled systems with full supervision.

For critical applications, we also supply desuperheaters and steam conditioning valves. Everything is selected, dimensioned, and integrated by our own engineers.

Steam trap management – stop invisible energy loss

A defective steam trap loses steam without you noticing. Multiply that across an entire installation and the energy loss adds up quickly. KLINGER Belgium supplies one of the most extensive steam trap ranges on the market; mechanical, thermostatic, and thermodynamic for industrial, culinary, clean, and pure steam applications.

But delivery alone is not enough. We audit your steam trap population, detect defects, and advise on replacement or optimization. This ensures your installation remains energy-efficient throughout its entire lifespan.

Skids & modules – custom project-ready installations

When you want to commission a sub-process quickly, safely, and certified, a skid is the most efficient solution. KLINGER Belgium designs and builds fully custom skids on a stainless steel or steel frame, including concept engineering, process control, and commissioning. We integrate our own product range into these: heat exchangers, control valves, steam traps, sensors, filters, and ancillaries. This gives you a single point of contact for the entire process, from the drawing board to delivery.

Energy and flow measurement – steering by facts

You can only optimize what you measure. KLINGER Belgium supplies METRA Energie-Messtechnik measurement systems; reliable, ISO 50001 compliant, and integrable into your existing energy management system via analog, digital, or network connections. Our measurement range covers steam flow and steam energy, water, condensate, and thermal oils up to 350°C, cooling energy, technical gases, compressed air, and aggressive liquids and vapors. From billing measurement to control technology, we select the right measurement technique for your application.

Proven in the toughest industrial environments

Our steam and energy solutions operate in production environments where downtime is not an option:

  • Heat Networks
  • Paper and cardboard industry
  • Construction industry (autoclaving of aerated concrete and insulation)
  • Food industry
  • Pharmacy & chemicals

Start with a steam scan

Don’t know where your installation is losing energy? Our steam scan maps the complete condition of your system: steam traps, piping, insulation, control technology, and measurement equipment. You receive a concrete report with priorities for optimization, energy savings, and safety.

Not a non-committal sales pitch, but a technically sound analysis with direct added value.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a pressure regulator and a control valve?

A pressure regulator automatically regulates the outlet pressure, independent of the flow rate. A control valve steers based on an external signal from your process control. The right choice depends on the complexity and required precision of your application. Our engineers advise you based on your process conditions.

How do I choose the right steam trap?

That depends on steam type, operating pressure, temperature, and condensate load. There is no universal choice. Our specialists analyze your situation and advise the most effective solution, even if that means a combination of types.

When is a skid the right solution?

When you want a ready-to-use, certified installation for a sub-process — with advantages in terms of space saving, quality control, and fast commissioning. Especially for time-critical projects or limited floor space, a skid is the most efficient choice.

How accurate are the METRA measurement systems?

METRA systems are developed for industrial steam and energy measurement in accordance with ISO 50001 and offer high measurement accuracy for both billing and control technology. The exact accuracy class depends on the chosen measurement system and your process parameters.
