Valves & accessories
Valves regulate the flow of liquids, gases or steam in a piping system. They open, close or regulate the flow rate, and thus protect your installation against overpressure, backflow or unwanted leakage. Small parts with a big impact on safety, efficiency and operational reliability.
KLINGER Belgium supplies a complete range of industrial valves, from ball valves and piston valves to butterfly valves and gate valves. Produced in our own European factories or selected from the best partners. Compliant with TA-Luft, Fire Safe, SIL and ATEX.
Desuperheaters & steam conditioning valves
Bringing steam to the correct pressure and temperature for your process. Desuperheaters lower the temperature, while steam conditioning valves regulate pressure and temperature in a single device.
Sight Glasses & Level Indicators
Sight glasses that directly visualize the flow, level, and fluid condition, without interrupting the process.
Heat exchangers
Heat from steam to water, with control via the condensate level. This allows you to fully utilize the latent heat and further cool the condensate before it returns.

Ball valves
European ball valves up to 400 bar and 800 °C, low-maintenance and Fire Safe. From the all-round Ballostar series to metal-seated, chemical-resistant and Double Block & Bleed versions, also automatable.

Gate valves
Valves with a gate plate that retracts completely from the flow: minimal pressure loss when fully open, for on-off service in large diameter pipelines.
Ball sampling valves
Ball valves with an integrated sampling device to take process samples safely and representatively, without shutting down the installation.
Globe valves
Seat valves for precise shut-off and flow control, featuring a long service life under frequent switching and high pressure differentials.

Butterfly valves
Compact quarter-turn valves with rotating disc: lightweight, space-saving, and quick to operate in large diameter pipes, manual or automated.

Check valves
Valves that allow the medium to pass in only one direction and prevent backflow, to protect pumps, compressors, and the installation.
Automation & Accessories
Accessories and peripheral components that complete valves and piping systems, from controls and actuators to mounting and safety parts.
Bellows sealed globe valves
Valves with a metal bellows seal around the stem: leak-proof to the atmosphere, ideal for steam, thermal oil, and volatile or hazardous media.
Thermocompressors
Reusing low-pressure steam that would otherwise be vented back into your process. Without moving parts and without extra energy. For one customer, this resulted in 15 to 20% less consumption.
Pressure reducing valves & safety valves
Pressure reduction that keeps your process stable, and safety valves that protect your installation against overpressure. Correctly calculated, correctly set, and ready for your next inspection.
Control valves
Control valves that keep your process stable, correctly calculated for your medium, differential pressure, and control range. Aligned with the actuator, control system, and measurement.
Knife gate valves
Compact valves that use a sharp, vertical plate to cut through slurries, powders, and fiber-rich media where conventional valves clog or wear out. Low-maintenance and available with pneumatic or electric actuation if required.
Steam generators
Generate steam using existing heat, with complete separation between the primary circuit and the produced steam. For pure steam or local steam demand.
Our industrial valves

KLINGER Belgium supplies a complete range of valves for industrial applications in chemicals, energy, oil & gas, food, pharma and heavy industry.
1. Ball valve

A ball valve opens or closes with one quarter turn and offers a fast, reliable shut-off with minimal pressure drop. One of the most widely used valves in the industry. KLINGER ball valves are produced in Europe (at KLINGER Fluid Control in Austria and KLINGER Schöneberg in Germany) and meet the strictest requirements of both general industry and the (petro)chemical sector.
Available in various materials, for pressures up to 400 bar and temperatures up to 800°C and available with soft or metal seals. Many versions are available with manual, pneumatic or electric operation and compliant with the most common standards: TA-Luft, Fire Safe, SIL and ATEX.
2. Butterfly valves

A butterfly valve regulates the flow via a rotating disc and combines a compact design with wide versatility, from on/off shut-off to flow control. For butterfly valves in demanding processes, KLINGER Belgium relies on the lined valves from ChemValve-Schmid, produced in Switzerland. The ChemFlyer CST is a PTFE-lined butterfly valve for safe processing of aggressive and corrosive media.
Available from DN 25 to DN 1200, for operating temperatures from -60°C to 200°C, with disc materials in PFA, stainless steel, duplex, titanium or Hastelloy or lined with PFA and a modular design that is highly configurable, or lined with PFA.
3. Piston valves

The KLINGER piston valve is an original KLINGER invention from 1922 and the reference for steam installations: the only steam valve that truly shuts off, even under the harshest conditions.
The unique design with radial seal has a large sealing surface located outside the medium flow. This ensures minimal wear, self-cleaning behavior during operation and excellent resistance to water hammer. The KVN piston valve is also infinitely serviceable in the installation itself and never needs to be replaced in its entirety.
Available in cast steel, stainless steel and cast iron, from DN 15 to DN 200, for temperatures up to +400°C and pressures up to PN 63 / Class 300. Available with flange, thread and socket weld connections according to DIN and ANSI standards. Compliant with TA-Luft and Fire Safe.
4. Other valves and accessories

The KLINGER Belgium range has been supplemented with the most reliable partners for various valves and accessories:
- Knife gate valves: cut through the medium flow via a sharp plate. Suitable for powders, sludge and media with solid particles.
- Globe valves: regulate the flow via an up and down moving plug. Suitable for precise flow and pressure control.
- Bellows sealed valves: seal hermetically via a flexible bellows. Suitable where no leakage to the outside is permitted.
- Gate valves: shut off via a vertically moving gate with straight flow and minimal pressure drop. Ideal as an isolation valve.
- Check valves: allow media to pass in only one direction and thus prevent backflow. Protect pumps and compressors from damage.
- Sampling valves: allow for safe sampling from a pipe without interrupting the medium flow.
- Diaphragm valves: shut off via a flexible diaphragm, without the medium coming into contact with the operating part. Ideal for hygienic applications or aggressive media.
- Plate valves: simple, compact valves for completely shutting off a pipe, often used as a safety valve during maintenance.
- Pinch valves: shut off by squeezing a flexible hose, suitable for media with solid particles or abrasive substances.

Frequently asked questions about industrial valves
1. What is the function of a valve?
A valve regulates the flow of liquids, gases or steam in a piping system. Depending on the type, a valve is used for fully opening or closing a pipe (on/off), for regulating the flow rate, or for preventing backflow.
2. What types of valves are there?
The most common types are ball valves, piston valves, butterfly valves, gate valves, and check valves and safety valves. Each type has its own application area based on medium, pressure, temperature and the required function. KLINGER Belgium supplies a full range for industrial applications in chemicals, energy, steam and more.
3. Can a ball valve withstand hot water and steam?
Yes. KLINGER ball valves are available for temperatures up to 800°C and pressures up to 400 bar and are suitable for steam, condensate and hot water. However, for steam applications, the piston valve is often the better choice: it was specifically developed for steam, is more resistant to water hammer and is infinitely serviceable in the installation.
4. What does a butterfly valve do and when do you choose one?
A butterfly valve regulates the flow via a rotating disc and combines a compact design with wide versatility.
They are particularly suitable for larger diameters and are used as an on/off valve or as a control valve. For aggressive or corrosive media, a PTFE-lined butterfly valve such as the ChemFlyer CST offers maximum chemical resistance.
5. What are the advantages of a gate valve?
A gate valve offers a straight flow with minimal pressure drop, making it ideal as an isolation valve in pipes that are predominantly fully open or fully closed.
They are robust, suitable for higher pressures and temperatures and available in versions for water, steam, oil and gas.
