Instrumentation

In industrial processes, correct measurement is the foundation of a safe and efficient installation. Pressure, temperature, level, flow, and energy consumption help determine the reliability of your process — and thus your business results. An incorrect measurement or a poorly calibrated instrument leads to inefficiency, safety risks, and unnecessary energy consumption.

KLINGER Belgium offers a complete range of instrumentation: from energy meters, flow meters, and level gauges to pressure gauges, thermometers, and transmitters. Each instrument is selected based on your process conditions, the medium, the desired accuracy, and the practical installation on site. Furthermore, we don’t stop at delivery: we also provide correct commissioning, quality checks, and training for your operators.

Transmitters

Transmitters that convert pressure, temperature, level, or flow into a standardized signal for your control and monitoring system.

Valves

Instrumentation valves and manifolds for isolating, venting, and calibrating measurement lines without shutting down the installation.

Pressure gauges & measurement accessories

Mechanical and electronic pressure gauges for the reliable reading and monitoring of process pressure, with corresponding shut-off and protection accessories.

Thermometers

Mechanical and electronic temperature gauges with corresponding thermowells for accurate measurement in pipelines, tanks, and boilers.

Flow meters

Meters that accurately record the flow of liquids, gases, and steam, serving as the basis for process monitoring, dosing, and energy tracking.

Level gauges

Level gauges and sight glasses that visualize and monitor the liquid level in boilers, tanks, and vessels.

Couplings

Process couplings and connection fittings that connect measuring instruments to the pipeline safely and leak-tight.

A selection from our range

A reliable installation requires measuring instruments that measure clearly, function safely, and last a long time. KLINGER combines its own expertise in level gauges with a wide range for pressure, temperature, level, flow, and energy measurement — as well as the peripheral components required for safe and correct installation.

  • Energy and flow meters
  • Magnetic level gauges
  • Reflex and transparent level gauges
  • Thermostats and pressure switches
  • Pressure gauges and thermometers
  • Transmitters
  • Flow meters
  • Couplings, fittings, and quick couplings
  • Pressure reducing valves and needle valves
  • Ball valves, check valves, and safety valves
  • Filters

Thus, we offer a single point of contact for both the measuring instruments themselves and the peripheral components required for safe and reliable installation.

Level Measurement

KLINGER reflex and transparent level gauges have been a household name in the industry for more than 110 years. They are used for clear and reliable level measurement in steam boilers, storage tanks, and process installations.

Reflex gauge glasses make the liquid level directly visible. Transparent level gauges with double glass are suitable for higher pressures and temperatures, or when a direct view through the medium is desired.

Magnetic level gauges are custom-built according to your specific process conditions. They can be equipped with transmitters, radar level measurement, LED lighting, and switch contacts — so that the device is fully tailored to the desired method of reading or signaling.

Process measurement

Reliable process measurement starts with the right instruments. KLINGER supplies flow meters, energy meters, pressure gauges, industrial thermometers, and pressure transmitters that form the basis for correct monitoring of your industrial installation.

Flow meters based on vortex or orifice plate types, compact or remote, guarantee a standard accuracy of ±1%. Depending on the application, these can be provided with pressure and temperature compensation in addition to standard zero-point correction. Pressure gauges are available with analog or digital displays and integrated mechanical damping — making the use of liquid damping unnecessary. Industrial thermometers are tailored to the medium and process temperature, with the desired display and connection.

In addition to delivery, KLINGER also handles full commissioning: startup, putting into service, quality checks, and operator training. This ensures that every instrument is correctly set up and that your team can work with it.

Applications in various sectors

Correct process measurement is cross-sectoral. KLINGER instrumentation is used in:

  • Oil & gas: for reliable instrumentation in demanding pressure, temperature, and flow applications.
  • Chemical and petrochemical: for process instrumentation resistant to aggressive media and extreme process conditions.
  • Food industry: for reliable measuring instruments in hygienic and controlled production environments.
  • Energy and utilities: for monitoring pressure, temperature, flow, and energy consumption.
  • Water treatment: for process measurement and level measurement in pipes, tanks, and installations.
  • Pharmaceuticals: for accurate process measurement and temperature control in critical installations.

Why choose KLINGER Belgium?

  • More than instruments — a complete solution: KLINGER does not just supply the instrument but guides the entire process: from selection and delivery to commissioning, quality checks, and operator training. This ensures your installation measures correctly from day one.
  • Broad technical knowledge, one point of contact: Our specialists have experience in industrial instrumentation as well as the broader process environment: seals, valves, steam systems, flow control, and industrial process solutions. This broad knowledge makes the difference in complex installations.
  • Instrumentation tailored to your process: Each instrument is selected based on your specific process conditions: medium, pressure, temperature, flow, and accuracy requirements. Not a standard solution, but the right choice for your installation.
  • Complete range, including peripheral components: From pressure gauges and thermometers to flow meters, energy meters, and magnetic level gauges — supplemented with all necessary couplings, valves, and fittings for correct installation.

Frequently asked questions about instrumentation

1. What is process instrumentation?

Process instrumentation includes measurement and control controllers that monitor and control industrial processes, such as pressure gauges, thermometers, flow meters, level gauges, transmitters, pressure switches, thermostats, and controllers.

2. What is the difference between level measurement and process measurement?

Level measurement focuses on measuring or reading the liquid level in, for example, tanks, boilers, or process installations. Energy and process measurement is broader and includes pressure measurement, temperature measurement, flow measurement, and other measurements within an industrial process.

3. When do I choose a reflex or transparent level gauge?

A reflex gauge glass is used when the liquid level must be directly visible, for example in steam boilers, storage tanks, and process installations. Transparent level gauges are suitable when a direct view through the medium is desired or when the application requires higher pressures and temperatures.

4. What is a pressure gauge used for?

A pressure gauge measures the pressure in pipes, tanks, or process installations. Within process instrumentation, this helps to monitor installations safely and correctly.

5. What is an industrial thermometer used for?

An industrial thermometer measures the temperature within a process. This allows the temperature of a medium or installation to be clearly monitored.

6. What is a flow meter used for?

A flow meter measures the flow of liquids, gases, or steam. This is important for correct process measurement and monitoring of the installation and for energy management systems.
