Gate valves

A gate valve provides a clear passage in the open position: the medium flows through without restriction, with hardly any pressure loss. This makes it suitable for pipelines where every bar counts and for larger diameters.

It is, however, an on-off valve. It is not designed for regulating flow: in a half-open position, the gate vibrates and damages the seat. For that purpose, a control valve or a butterfly valve is a better choice.

Which version is appropriate depends on your medium, your pressure class, and the available space, as a gate valve has a higher profile than most other types. We assist in making that choice and coordinate the valve with the actuator and control system.
