What will you do?
As Financial Business Controller, you are the substantive financial expert within the KLINGER Belgium finance team and a sparring partner for the Finance Manager. It is an expert role without managerial responsibility, in which you combine operational accounting work with analysis and reporting. You report to the Finance Manager.
- You independently perform the monthly closing, including cut-off, accruals and deferrals, provisions, depreciation, and inventory valuation.
- You prepare the monthly profit and loss account, the balance sheet, and the cash flow statement, and create the financial reporting for the Finance Manager and management, including an analysis of variances compared to budget and the previous year.
- You handle reporting according to IFRS, including the reconciliation between BE GAAP and IFRS, within the set deadlines.
- Together with the Finance Manager, you prepare the year-end closing and the annual accounts. You are the point of contact for audits: you provide the necessary documentation and explanations and manage the process.
- You develop the annual budget and forecasts in collaboration with the Finance Manager and department heads, monitor realizations, explain variances, and formulate recommendations.
- You manage the analytical accounting (cost centers, cost objects, and allocation keys), monitor cost prices and margins per product (group), customer, or department, and perform ad-hoc analyses, for example, regarding margins, investments, or cost savings.
- You check the VAT return, the Intrastat declaration, and the intra-community statement, and serve as backup for the AR/GL Accountant and the AP Accountant.
- You monitor internal controls, ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations, and actively contribute to the optimization of financial processes and tools, such as Business Central and reporting tools.
Who are you?
- You hold a master's degree in an economic or financial field (e.g., Applied Economics, Commercial Engineering, Accountancy & Taxation) or are equivalent through experience.
- You have relevant experience in controlling and/or audit, for example, at an audit firm or within an international group.
- You have a thorough knowledge of BE GAAP and IFRS and a good knowledge of analytical accounting and cost calculation.
- You are familiar with Belgian tax and VAT regulations.
- You have a very good knowledge of Dutch, English, and French, both spoken and written.
- You work fluently with MS Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of Business Central is an asset.
- You have experience with Power BI.
- You are highly analytical and numerically minded, combining a helicopter view with an eye for detail.
- You work independently, in a structured and accurate manner, with respect for deadlines.
- You can clearly explain figures to non-financial colleagues.
- You find satisfaction in a substantive expert role and enjoy working in a team.
- You are stress-resistant, reliable, and possess integrity, with a positive and committed attitude.
What do we offer you?
- A full-time position with a permanent contract.
- A family-like working atmosphere in a stable, people-oriented company.
- Room to take initiative and make your own mark.
- Training opportunities and room for personal development.
- Flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home one day a week, for a good work-life balance.
- Attractive employment conditions with fringe benefits: company car with charging card, smartphone, 11 ADV days (reduction of working hours), group and hospitalization insurance, meal and eco-vouchers, bonus, and a flexible benefit plan.
