Suspended solids, oils, and fats that reach your biological treatment stage cost you capacity, energy, and sludge production. Flotation removes them before they get that far.
The LiberAqua DAF is designed for high separation efficiency with low energy and air consumption, featuring simple operation.
How it works
Fine air bubbles attach to suspended particles and flocs. This reduces their apparent density, causing them to rise rapidly to the surface where a skimmer removes them to the sludge collection tank. Heavier particles such as sand settle and are automatically discharged via pneumatically operated valves.
Where necessary, coagulants and flocculants ensure that fine and colloidal particles clump together into larger flocs.
What distinguishes this version
- Counter-current principle. The floating sludge is skimmed off close to the inlet zone. As a result, fewer solids are carried away with the effluent, and the microbubbles are located exactly where the sludge load is highest.
- Economical with compressed air. The combination of a venturi injector and a correctly dimensioned saturation vessel brings air and recirculation water into efficient contact. This significantly reduces air consumption compared to traditional pressure systems.
- Fewer blockages. Recirculation pumps with an open impeller allow fibrous material and particles up to 20 mm to pass through.
Design
Standard in stainless steel AISI 304, with AISI 316 for more demanding applications. Available as a standalone unit or as a complete treatment skid with an electrical control panel.
Optional:
- Automatic preparation of powder or liquid flocculants
- Automatic dosing of coagulants, flocculants, and pH correction agents
- Pipe flocculation
- Pumping to the next treatment step
- Water quality monitoring
- SMS alerts, remote monitoring, and diagnostics
Access and safety
Safe access to the upper deck via stairs and a platform with handrails. Moving parts are shielded. Where necessary, the top edge can be equipped with a continuous lifeline.
Applications
- Industrial and municipal water treatment plants
- Physicochemical pretreatment to reduce the load on the biological system
- Primary sedimentation: removal of suspended solids, oils, and fats
- Secondary sedimentation in biological treatment systems
- Limiting sludge bulking and overloading of the secondary clarifier
- Thickening of biological sludge before digestion or dewatering
- Recovery of fibers and suspended solids from process water
Models

All models: 400 V / 50 Hz, standard AISI 304 / 304 L. For flow rates above 200 m³/h, we provide custom designs or a modular combination of existing models.
